Haingo Slack

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars, United States, 2007

Haingo Slack has six years of experience in managing the Malagasy diaspora support group, Malagasy NoMads. She started free online English classes for both Malagasy in Madagascar and the Malagasy diaspora. She is also the narrator and content creator at Aody Madagascar, a YouTube channel where she narrates Malagasy stories, tales, and customs.

She worked for the startup, Tribalingual where she designed their Malagasy Explorer course for non-Malagasy students and Malagasy diaspora members. The course covered Malagasy culture, history, and language, as well as prepared tourists for their trip to Madagascar. For this specific purpose, she worked with a Madagascar-based tour operator to create cultural tour packages as most Madagascar tour packages are biodiversity-based.

Haingo is an alumna of the Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars on Contemporary U.S. Literature program.
